In short
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email, phone number or ID number.
- Your scores, settings, unlocked packs and any packs you make yourself stay on your phone.
- Data leaves your phone only through Google's advertising and Google Play's billing.
- The app uses your phone's motion sensor to detect a tilt during a round. That reading is used on the phone at that moment and is never stored or sent anywhere.
- We don't sell your data or keep a profile of you.
Who we are
Yoh! Charades ("the app", "we", "us") is published by Ekspeace. Contact us at Ekspeace@gmail.com.
Yoh! Charades is a party game for adults (18 and over). It is not directed at children.
Names of brands, shows, teams and people that appear as guessing words belong to their owners. Yoh! Charades is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
What data is used, and why
| Data | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Scores, records, streaks, game settings, team names, which words you have seen, and which packs are unlocked | Stored only on your device | To run the game, avoid repeating words and show your records |
| Packs you make yourself (the words you type) | Stored only on your device | So you can play them. They are never uploaded |
| Motion sensor readings | Used on your device during a round; not stored | To detect a nod (correct) or a tip back (pass) |
| Advertising ID, device and app-usage information | Google AdMob | To show ads, including optional rewarded videos that unlock a pack or add bonus time, and to prevent ad fraud |
| Purchase of the once-off "unlock all packs" item | Google Play | Google Play handles the payment and records the purchase against your Google account. We never see your card or payment details; the app only learns whether the item is owned |
| A score card you choose to share | The app you pick in your phone's share sheet | Only when you tap Share. The picture contains team names and scores |
Advertising
Yoh! Charades is free and funded by ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect and use device information and your advertising ID to show and measure ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Consent. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), the app shows Google's consent message before any ads are requested, and a "Privacy options" entry in the app's settings lets you change your choice.
Your controls. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone's settings under Google > Ads.
No ads are shown during a round. If you buy the "unlock all packs" item, banners and ads between rounds are switched off.
Purchases
The once-off "unlock all packs" purchase is made through Google Play's billing system under Google's own terms and privacy policy. It is tied to the Google account on your phone, so it is restored when you reinstall the app or move to a new phone. Refunds are handled by Google Play.
What we do not do
- We do not run our own servers for this app and hold no database of players.
- We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, microphone or camera.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
Keeping and deleting your data
Everything the app stores is on your phone. To delete it, clear the app's storage in your phone's settings or uninstall the app. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Data held by Google (advertising and purchases) is managed in your Google account.
Children
Yoh! Charades is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Some packs contain references to alcohol and mild rude language. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
In South Africa the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you the right to know what personal information is held about you and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. If you have a concern, contact us first at Ekspeace@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Information Regulator.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date at the top.
